As a Division of Special Operations under the Bureau of Fire in Sullivan County the purpose of the Wildland Search & Rescue Team is to assist Fire Officers in establishing an efficient command & control procedures for wildland searches and provide highly trained personnel to assist in organizing and deploying groups of firefighters into search teams.

 The Wildland Search & Rescue Team is comprised of firefighters from the different fire departments in Sullivan County.
