ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY:

This position involves the performance of secretarial and clerical duties while also being delegated with significant responsibility to perform various administrative tasks in support of the managerial and administrative functions of a municipality or operating department.

Minimum qualification:

(A)Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s Degree or higher in Secretarial Science or closely related field and two (2) years of secretarial experience which shall have involved the operation of a computer for word-processing, database or spreadsheet applications; or

The Office of the Sullivan County Treasurer is seeking to fill the following position:

Real Property Tax Services Specialist

This position involves performing technical and clerical duties involved in foreclosure action, title searching, land acquisition as well as assisting in the tax collection and taxpayer installment process in the County Treasurer’s Department. Work is performed under general direction of the Treasurer and Deputy Treasurer and in accordance with set policies and procedures, with leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out most of the duties of the position. Minimum Qualifications: Either

PHS – BREASTFEEDING PEER COUNSELOR – PART TIME

The responsibilities of this position are to promote and support breastfeeding initiation and continuation. The incumbent will be trained to provide information, encouragement, emotional support and guidance to WIC participants. The incumbent takes direction from the Breastfeeding Coordinator and/or WIC Program Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of a general equivalency diploma and one (1) year of experience in a position which required interaction with the public.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess and maintain a valid appropriate class driver’s license; Successful completion of Peer Counselor Training Program within six (6) months of appointment; Must have successfully breastfed at least one infant for at least six months.

Annual salary: $9,478.56 based on 14 hours per week @ $13.02/HR.

Sullivan County Division of Public Works is seeking an AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC.
This position involves responsibility for efficient and skillful performance of a variety of automotive, truck, construction and maintenance equipment repair or maintenance tasks; general instructions are received regarding work assignments, with leeway permitted for completing work; does related work as required. Supervision is not a responsibility of this position, although assistance and/or instructions may be provided to Mechanic's Helper.

An incumbent must possess thorough knowledge of standard automotive and equipment repair methods and of the terminology and tools of the trade; demonstrated ability to make the difficult repairs to automotive and other mechanical equipment; ability to work from diagrams, specifications and oral instructions; ability to lay out work for self and others; ability to work from plans and specifications and to follow rough sketches and oral instructions; mechanical aptitude; good motor and hand and eye coordination; manual dexterity; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the positions.

Candidates must possess two (2) years of experience in performing maintenance and repair duties. Candidates must provide adequate information about their experience to demonstrate that they have become knowledgeable and are able to perform standard automotive maintenance and repair tasks.

Sullivan County Division of Public Works is seeking an AUTOMOTIVE BODY REPAIRER.
Under supervision, an employee in this class performs skilled work in the repair and preservation of automotive equipment bodies. General instructions are given regarding jobs to be performed, allowing considerable latitude for planning and implementation of assignments. Work is checked during progress and upon completion by a supervisor.

An incumbent must possess good knowledge of the practices, tools, materials, and terminology used in automotive body repair work; good knowledge of the operations of gas and electric arc welding equipment; good knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work; skill in the use of tools associated with automotive body repair work, including painting equipment; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to lay out and follow through work assignments; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Sullivan County Division of Public Works is seeking a DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION. This position involves responsibility for the administration and coordination of all aspects of the county run public transportation system. The duties include planning, developing, coordinating and directing the operation of a county-wide public transportation system. District Attorney's Investigator
