SULLIVAN COUNTY, a rural New York county located 1 1/2 hours northwest of New York City is seeking an individual to serve as Deputy Commissioner of Management and Budget. This is an administrative position involving responsibility for assisting the Commissioner of Management and Budget with maintaining the efficient and economical accounting management of the Management and Budget Division. This position also assists in the direction and coordination of activities and responsibilities of the County Payroll Department and oversees the efficient operation and implementation of the payroll and financial management software systems. This position reports directly to the Commissioner of Management and Budget. Candidates must possess a Master's Degree or higher in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Management or Finance and three (3) years of experience in public or private finance, accounting or budgeting system and/or intergovernmental revenue systems, including (1) year of employment in a governmental administrative or financial post or a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Management or Finance and five (5) years of experience in public or private finance, accounting or budgeting system and/or intergovernmental revenue systems, including (1) year of employment in a governmental administrative or financial post; or an equivalent combination of experience and training as defined by the limits above. The Sullivan County Management Information Systems Dept. is seeking to fill the following position:

CLIENT SUPPORT TECHNICIAN I: This position assists and involves the users of computer information systems in the development of applications to accomplish their respective missions efficiently. Incumbents assess data management needs, make recommendations, plan and implement solutions for defined segments of the users community. This may include feasibility studies, project definition, systems analysis, hardware/software selection, programming, debugging, implementation, documentation, user training and user support. The incumbent is responsible for total project management, including providing deliverables, making presentations, coordinating team efforts, overseeing and/or performing necessary programming tasks, and smooth implementation of the finished product. This position is both technical and analytical in nature, and requires a high degree of organization. Work is performed under the direction of the Chief Information Officer or designee with leeway for independently performing most of the duties of the position. Supervision may be exercised over other members of a team, and contracted or in-house programmers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either

(A)Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer programming, computer sciences, computer engineering, systems analysis, data processing, or a closely related field, and six (6) years of experience in software development, implementation and support which shall have included .NET and/or related Microsoft development technologies; or
(B)Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s Degree in computer programming, computer sciences, computer engineering, systems analysis, data processing, or a closely related field, and eight (8) years of experience as described in (a) above; or
(C)Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and ten (10) years of experience as described in (A) and (B) above.

NOTE: In–depth experience in the utilization of office productivity software may be substituted for programming experience on a year for year basis.

The Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office is seeking to fill the following position:

LEGAL SECRETARY :

This is difficult secretarial work requiring knowledge of legal terms used in the preparation of briefs and other legal instruments. The position requires performance of standard keyboarding practices, operating a personal computer and word processing equipment and maintaining automated records and files in the preparation and maintenance of legal documents. In addition to legal typing duties, other standardized clerical and typing tasks are performed in this position. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with general instructions and department policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:

(A)Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and two (2) years of office clerical experience which shall have involved typing or word processing of legal terminology;
(B)Three (3) years of experience as described in (A) above;

Note: Completion of academic coursework in secretarial sciences can be substituted on a basis of three (3) credits being equivalent to three (3) months of experience for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

Salary: Entry: $27,534.00; After six (6) months: $28,983.00

SULLIVAN COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES

Public Health Nurse - This is a professional nursing position responsible for providing nursing assessment and education to clients in the community, public health clinic setting and in the home setting.  Incumbent assists in providing guidance to Community Health Nurses (Public Health) and Registered Professional Nurses Licensure and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited or New York State registered four (4) year college or university and two (2) years clinical experience in home care, acute care or a field related to public/community health.

Registered Nurses - are needed to do home care, clinics, maternal child health, and public health programs.  We prefer nurses who are experienced, flexible and highly organized to further our mission of protecting and promoting the health of Sullivan County residents.  You must have a minimum of a registered nurse licensure in New York State, with experience in public health, acute care and/or home care desired.
