Monticello – County Manager David P. Fanslau has announced that he has directed  the County MIS Department to create a webpage on the Sullivan County website ( dedicated to containing the minutes of the meetings of the Sullivan County Legislature, Legislative Committees, and the external organizations that receive funds from the County Government.  The webpage should be operational by August 1, 2010.

“In a continuing effort to provide for greater transparency of the Sullivan County Government, the availability of minutes of the Legislature and legislative process, as well as, the minutes of the organizations that receive funding from the County of Sullivan, will be placed on a to be constructed page on the County’s website,” said Fanslau.

The information that will be on this informational page will reflect documents that would otherwise be available under the New York State Freedom Of Information Law.

“As a service to the citizenry and general public, it is common sense to provide these documents as part of the County’s website that is accessible via the internet, as opposed to requiring citizens to file a FOIL request for these documents,” added Fanslau.

“There are a number of other documents and reports that are currently available on the County Manager’s webpage, ranging from solid waste studies to the annual CAFR.  As more documents are produced by County staff, they will also be placed on the County website for the convenience of the public, concluded Fanslau.
