(Liberty, NY 2:10pm) - On Monday, July 11, Paul Pellinger, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer of the Recovery Unplugged alternative rehabilitation center for opioid and alcohol addiction, will address the Sullivan County Rural Health Network and the Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force at a meeting at Sullivan County Public Health Services, 50 Community Lane, Liberty, NY. A native of Sullivan County, Pellinger has been invited by the Public Health Director to discuss creative solutions the growing problem of opioid addiction in the region.
The Sullivan County Rural Health Network, a coalition comprised of a broad range of community leaders and executives of health care and human service organizations, meets monthly to discuss initiatives and solutions to the factors impacting the health and mental health challenges and needs in the county.
Mr. Pellinger will share his 25+ year history as an addiction recovery professional and his own recovery from addiction, and the success of his program. Recovery Unplugged is based in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and uses a unique method of music immersion – songwriting, listening, and performance, - that has made for remarkably effective results with both musician and non-musician clients. Pellinger was inspired by his experience growing up in the Catskills to use music as a catalyst for recovery.
